I arrive downstairs
To find the chair,
The blue recliner,
Stuck
In the reclining position.
My computer lives
On the desk
Attached
To the recliner.
I manage to climb in.
The grandfather cat
Wheezes and snores
In his cat bed
Across the room.
We have talked
About replacing
The blue recliner.
It is now at least
Thirty years old
As old
As the turtle
As old as dirt
We may
Have to put it
In the will
Stuck
In the reclining
Position.
